For the past two weeks lessons, the students have been learning about how to create designs of objects based on specific color patterns and shapes. The goal is to expand their creativity and how different people have different perspectives on objects and concepts. They were tasked with color gradient (blending colors), color blocking, and free hand drawing.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
