After coming back from Thanksgiving vacation the students are as energetic as ever. Trying to get them to calm down from all the excitement has been a challenge, but enthusiasm is a good thing. I’ve tried to reset their minds by going back to basics as we have been focusing on fundamentals this week. I’m trying to get across to them that fundamentals are here to create a safer environment. Working with these kids has been challenging but very rewarding.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
