Two weeks ago STEAM’s basketball season ended, so I encouraged the students to make basketball player cards in GIMP. I provided a template for them to use, which many students decided to use as a basis in creating their own unique formats. Just like in previous projects, the students provided their own creative solutions for the task at hand. Most students have finished the front of the card, and are now working on the back. They’ll be printed shortly for the students to take home!
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
