This past week at Linden SDA School, students were introduced to this year’s Creative Challenge in 3D Printing! Their 2016 CC3DP challenge? To design, model, & 3D print a board game in a collaborative team effort.
First, students discussed what board games they had had experience with. Then, they followed by making a list of what they considered to be important gameplay elements (game board, characters, dice, cards, etc). In order to facilitate the creative design process, each student proceeded to create their own racing-style board game with signature theme & character pieces.
Lesson inspiration & game templates were utilized from the National Museum of Australia.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
