Now that the students have learned several of the basic skills in Gimp, I guided them in an exercise that allowed them to play and express themselves. Through that play, they were able to create very interesting images. One exercise used filtering and layering effects; however these aren’t your basic pick and click Instagram filters. By carefully manipulating the effects settings and blending different images, the students created work that is truly unique to their personalities!
