In keeping with our theme of identity, this week the 6-8th grade students are identifying emotions that can be experienced on a day to day basis. They are also recognizing and expressing through drawing and painting how colors and specific lines and textures in art affect our mood. The students also discussed how learning to recognize and express one’s emotions are vital steps in the development of identity.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
