On the first day on class we went over the rules that we will abide by for the school year. Together we came up with rules that we agreed with, students were very interested to hear about what they would be learning for the school year.
The students are gearing up for Web Design and Graphic Design as they received their assigned tablets that they will be using to do some of their Web Design work. Tablets gives them the ability to see their websites on a different platform, which is very important in web design.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
