Using your inner body is not the same as listening to your inner voice. To excel the inner body a person must be able to identify their ego versus their versus their spiritual guide. Tai Chi Quán Was first introduced to the steam students last year. Any student that has participated in sticky hands and push hands will fully understand this message. To excel in Tai Chi Quán a person must be unafraid in every sense of the word. To be a Tai Chi warrior or to even simply be a user of Chi, you cannot be afraid. In order to be free of fear is to not be afraid of your own reflection and what is not shown in the mirror. To advance inside a person must be unafraid of the world’s responses from outside. Every person on the planet has insecurities but do they matter? If opinion of self is rationalized by others then living for self is nonexistent.
Before some classes could start students would always ask what are we going to learn today? I would then mention the lesson of the week and right away some students defeat themselves before the class could start. Stubborn people similar to some of our young adults once their minds are made up there is no changing it. For years stories and carvings of ancients have been considered myths. Krishna was one of these myths; his land similar to the city of Atlantis was considered to be as fictional. Regardless of all the ancient books and artifacts that say otherwise Krishna a god to some was Santa Claus to others, a good story. Less than ten years ago off the coast of India forty feet below sea level the land of Krishna was found. All these know it all’s knew nothing. As of today the story of Krishna and the land of are no longer considered a myth, but authentic historic events. The impossible is constantly proven otherwise. This example one of millions is used to broaden the student’s views of our world and existence. Some students may not feel they are fit to doing certain activities. Defeated mentally before the challenge began. Literally yesterday I watched a man an easy 60 lbs heavier than me complete what is called a 720’ degrees tornado kicks. This man weight wise defied gravity and destroyed stereotypes by completing two 360 degree kicks to finish a full 720 degree tornado kicks landing four kicks in one leap.
If you asked a twiggy shaped gymnast can a big man do some cool flips first question is how much do they weight and secondly how tall are they? In class this week the students learned about Chi energy which can be built up through techniques such as rooting and deep meditation. I gave the students very light weighted paper and taught them about air bending. I showed them the video of a natural healer who could control electric currents in his body. This man was so good at his control he could literally spark a flame. This is all done with Chi. The students have gone through life being told energy projectiles is just something that exist in the video game and animation world. Unfortunately many would like to think this true but is actually far from.
I will not lie to anyone and say you just wake up and make fireballs out of your hand. Chi levels are different between people and one young lady this week surpassed all her other classmates.Between three grades one students energy stood out and pushed more Chi than the others. Some students would try and push faster and faster, I would continue to tell them that Chi manifest in the form of wind but Chi is not air. The slower some of them moved the more impressive the response of Chi was and the more impress I was. Great job this week to the students of steam.
