Sample work – Naomi Space Heart
Meet the cool kids of Linden SDA. Some had previous instructions of Virtual Reality through our program, meaning flexibility to our lessons. While some of the students may not understand, the contrary happened; this communion of scholars are open on sharing knowledge across minds. This week we introduce them to Oculus Rift the big boys pants of VR (or should i say lens). We introduced them to the headset that will be worn by them. The Move controllers manipulated the virtual space around them, finally the Sensors that tracked their movements. We asked them to join groups of 3, sorted by the instructor they where more than happy to work and share among themselves.
After the quick crash course of Tilt Brush on the Rift, we asked them to explore the environment around them. The rest of the class eager to try out the headset, we limited the use of the Rift to specific activities. Those activities where look around your pallet and locate the environment icon, the brush tool and the scale feature. With great success the seventh and eighth graders over exceeded expectation. It goes to demonstrate that their generation is more than compatible with current human interface virtual technology.
