The BSMART News Team recently ventured out in the field to interview Syntyché Franchella at Dehya Yoga Studios in Laurelton. It is always a fascinating experience to observe when the news team covers a story in the field. The students prep in the classroom. However, when on site, the nerves and excitement of being in a new environment always produces a new level of lessons to learn from. A few of the major lessons that they learned are:
1. Interviewing a business person is much different than interviewing a classmates. They learned that one must be twice as prepared as they originally thought.
2. Butterfly nerves are real and appear when you least expect them too.
Overall, they enjoyed visiting the space and learning new lessons about Yoga and being apart of a news team. Overall they felt accomplished and look forward to improving on their skills for the next broadcast.

DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
