The students at Linden are entering a new dimension of storytelling. As noticed in the 360° video, drafting is first part to any intelligible work. Outlining possibilities and turnouts the scholars are left to their own imagination. We the instructors of DIVAS have ruled out certain scenarios such as improper behavior or language, we advised they should keep it simple and direct, also the time lapse should be no more than five minutes. With the aid of a smartboard (and internet) as a tool for scenery we stood back and let the kids decide where their imagination will take the collective.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
