ARTS & CRAFTS AND SEWING BLOG
In lieu of Mother’s day, the students have been working on creating personalized Mother’s day cards. They have been utilizing the arts and crafts materials that I have provided such as; construction paper, glitter, scissors, markers, colored pencils and mother’s day coloring pages/activities. They have selected, cut out and decorated 3 different coloring pages of their choice. They folded the colored construction paper in half and used the glue to paste the various decorated coloring pages inside the construction paper, combining them and creating one personalized card. The students were able to showcase these personalized Mother’s day cards to their loved ones and also included them in their portfolio.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
