We took students to the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing, Queens! There they got a tour and a workshop from our wonderful guide Michael. The students learned how common plants and flowers help prevent flooding and erosion while nurturing the soil and providing habitats. They then used specialized field guides to collect plants, record their observations and measurements, and design their own herbarium pages for further botanical observation.
