This week the students were broken up into 4 groups. The first group measured the last panels, The second group Sewed the panels. The third group checked LED’s and batteries to see if they all were working correctly, and the last group took the sewn panels and began to sew on LED’s using conductive thread and batteries. By the end of next week, the quilt will be finished. All panels will be sewn together and all LED connections will be complete and working.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
