This Thursday we had a Halloween Party where students were tasked with making their own costume. With the use of pom poms, pipe cleaners, markers, feathers, and buttons, everyone was able to make their own Halloween mask! For an extra touch, each student was given LED’s and coin cell batteries to make their mask light up. In this activity, students learned the following vocabulary. LED(Light-emitting Diode), Battery, and Circuit. After everyone’s mask was made, we took many pictures and enjoyed pizza and candy.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
