Steam At Macon Library, wishes you a happy new year!
Towards the end of 2017, we finished our program with a bang, hosting a community holiday workshop, facilitated by our staff.
We had a great time learning about the history of Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas. Students were encouraged to understand the importance of acknowledging Kwanzaa and it’s relevance to Black History and how it’s intolerant and prejudice to make fun of anyones ceremonial traditions and beliefs.
We conducted a science experiment desolving candy canes and designed ginger bread houses meant to stand on our own, using graham crackers, frosting and a precise blueprint created for the activity.
