During the Summer STEAM Camp students are learning about the importance of community gardens and its connection to affordable housing. The students were taken to the 462 Halsey Community Garden so that they could see for themselves what a community garden is and why they should remain in the community. The students are also learning about Citi Bikes and were taken to two different locations to see the citi bikes. They documented this by taking pictures and researching about the process, who utilizes the bikes and where they are located in the community.

DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
