This week the students were able to learn how to be a pilot in their own lives and be a co-pilot for each other. Students practiced an exercise as if there a plane in the sky, by using yoga, meditation to get there.
The pilot and co-pilot is a method for students to be supporting each other through tough periods in their lives, whether its school, family, or other personal matters. Using our yoga mats, I had students lay on their stomachs and stretch their arms as if there were airplanes with their eyes closed. I asked them to imagine as if they were flying above their community and to think about what their ‘superpower’ is and how they can use it. Additionally, having that accountability partner (their co-pilot) to tell them the great things they see within each other. Building that commodity amongst each other.
