6th & 8th grade students at the Linden SDA school are ready for the holiday season! Over the past 3 weeks, the students have all designed & modeled a personalized ornament using Sketchup.
In class, we’ve covered topics such as symmetry, picture match, & arc length, & follow me in SketchUp in order to give them the tools they needed for their designs.
The students were required to hand-draw their ornament out, then trace, model, & extrude it into a 3-dimensional file in Sketchup that could be printed.
Lastly, the Makerbot Replicator was used to bring their designs to life. Over 20+ students were able to design, model, & print their ornaments to take home. Printed ornaments will be distributed to students when classes are resumed after winter break. 🙂
