This week the students . First the students thought about inventions in their every day lives. We had a discussion about technology and how it use used specifically at home. Student wrote down different jobs they do around the house, and how the creation of an invention could
Last, students drew and invention based on our discussion that could do anything. They labeled each part of the drawing and presented their ideas. After Presenting, students 3d modeled their inventions using an online software called Tinkercad. Moving forward, our next project will be “The Future of Bushiwhck.” In this project students will rebuild their community how they would like to see it in Virtual Reality.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
